Interesting Homebrew howto site
Dead Parrot Tavern By Jay Smith on 12/14/2005 4:54 PM
While listening to the Basic Brewing Radio (http://basicbrewingradio.com) podcast they interviewed a John Palmer who is writing a book called "How To Brew" and it is available on-line at http://howtobrew.com.  I thought it was very interesting and thought I'd pass it along.

Kit Brew # 1: Irish Stout
Dead Parrot Tavern By Jay Smith on 12/14/2005 4:50 PM

I have just finished kegging my first beer kit.  It was an Irish Stout that I brewed at Mark's during the national teach a friend to homebrew event.  I have really enjoyed the process AND have also been enjoying the Irish Stout :-).  I will bring some to the next club meeting.

I have also picked up a new kit, the Brewer's Red Ale, and look forward to brewing it soon.

Wine Kit #2 - Bergemais
Dead Parrot Tavern By Jay Smith on 10/31/2005 2:55 AM

I just pitched yeast on my second wine kit. It's the Vino Del Vita Bergemais I purchased at, you guessed it, the homebewery here in town.  It's a 6 gallon batch and is showing signs of fermentation within 24 hours.

Here is what the finished product should be like: A refreshing ligiter red wine with full fruit flavoirs of cherries and red berries. Gama- Noir is the featured grape. Best when consumed young and slightly chilled.

Brewing on Saturday
Steve's mindless drivel By Steve Field on 9/29/2005 2:19 AM
Hey this BLOG thing is pretty cool.... way to go Jay you are truely a genius... guess I should talk about something.... well I got semi roped into brewing a batch of beer with the husband of a friend of my wife. I've met the guy a couple of time and he seems like a pretty cool dude. I'd like to get a couple of guys over and get several batchs going , but my wife has put the kibosh on any partying this weekend....
I owe the FLOPS a brew in at my house.... guess I'll have to make good on that soon.

To date, nobody has purchased anything from the cafepress site... a fact that still amazes me given the amount of SHIT I was givn by club for taking so long to create the site... I will buy a shirt on payday. Maybe I just need to set the example...

Oh yeah and all you guys going to GABF... YOU ALL SUCK!! bring me back a t shirt or something...

Cheers!
Steve
